Winter Youth League

Welcome to the 2011-2012 Winning Ways Sports WinterYouth League Season! Our youth league provides an opportunity for boys and girls in grades K-12, regardless of experience or skill level, to sharpen their skills, learn new skills and play basketball in a fun, safe and positive environment. As with all of our academy programs, our youth league focuses on building winning lifestyles through the medium of our sport and creating character through healthy competition. League Facts:

Divisions

Hoopsters Grades K-1, coed league play

Grade 2, coed league play

Prep Grades 3-4, coed league play

Grades 5-6, league play

Grades 7-8, league play

Girls Middle School Grades 5-8, league play

High School Hoops Recreational Round Robin play for grades 9-12

*Rosters for the recreational divisions are formed through player placements workout process and all players will receive fair playing time, as close to half of each game, including playoffs as feasible.

**Classic Divisions – Formerly our Open Division. For boys and girls teams, grades 3-4, 5-6, 7-8. The classic divisions will be further divided in gold and silver divisions (based on skill level and experience) given significant number of teams registered. Full rostered teams may enter these divisions with the understanding that there is no guaranteed playing time for players.

Player Eligibility

Players may play on more than one team, but must be in a different division.
Players may play in an older division; however, playing in their grade division cannot be more than one year older than their current grade.

Registration/Fitting Dates:

Registration will be at the Lake Brantley Athletic Complex Fieldhouse. NEW this year, we will have fitting nights for EVERY league participant. Please note below the night of your players’ fitting. We should see every participant, whether you signed up online or in person during this week. This new policy is in effect in order to ensure that every player has the proper uniform size.

Hoopsters (Grade K-2)/Fitting: September 19th 6:30-9pm

Prep: (Grades 3-4)/Fitting: September 19th 6:30-9pm

(Grades 5-8)/Fitting: Septemeber 20th 6:30-9pm

Girls Middle School (Grades 5-8)/Fitting: September 21st 6:30-9pm

Classic Divisions/Fitting: September 22nd 6:30-9pm (arrange for your players to attend this night, to ensure they are getting the proper uniform size).

Late Registration/Online Registrant Fitting: September 22nd 6:30-9pm

High School Hoops: November 7th 6:30-9pm

Costs:

Hoopsters: $125 per participant

Prep: $125 per participant

Girls Middle School: $125 per participant

Classic Divisions: $1200 per team

(cost is based on teams up to 10 players. Each additional player is $120)

High School Hoops: $60 per participant (includes reversible jersey)

Registration Fees are non-refundable and payable at the time of registration. If for any reason your child should withdraw from the league once registered, a league credit will be given for future registration for any Winning Ways Basketball Program within the next 12 months. Once league play has started the credit will be appropriately prorated.

Player Placement Workouts:

Player Placement Workouts will be held for all participants in the Hoopsters, Prep and Girls Middle School Divisions. Team assignments will be made following the Placement Workouts. All Hoopster, Prep, and Girls Middle School divisions’ registrants must attend.

Hoopsters: Monday, Oct. 17, 6:00 p.m.

Prep (Grades 3-4) Monday, Oct. 17, 7:30 p.m.

Prep (Grades 5-6) Tuesday, Oct. 18, 6:00 p.m.

Prep (Grades 7-8) Tuesday, Oct. 18, 7:30 p.m.

Girls Middle School Wednesday, Oct. 19, 6:00 p.m.

We request that all players arrive 15 minutes prior to their Player Placement Workout.
